Let’s get right to the point here.
I would like to tell you that today my heart swells with patriotic pride and
I awoke whistling along with Mitch Miller’s rendition of Stars&Stripes Forever, but at best, in the far back of my mind today, Old Glory is waving distantly. I awoke this morning thinking, “Today I can eat more cheesecake!”

Perhaps some folks woke to the smell of the barbecue pit churning out distinctively promising odors. No doubt, in many kitchens, hands are busily deviling eggs and stirring up potato salad, counting out franks and buns. Not here at our house, I assure you. Not now that Michael has produced two spectacular cheesecakes, one garnished with perfectly ripened raspberries sitting plumply atop a layer of chocolate, the other saluting in return with hand-picked blueberries meeting an exacting dimension!

Yes, I have found myself beginning and ending my day with at least a sliver of cheesecake. I’m trying not to get just plain piggy about it! And did I mention dessert after lunch? Tea at 4ish? For those of you who care to see the ‘proof in the pudding’ check out the close-ups and weep while your mouth waters!

Gotta run, I think I hear a cheesecake calling my name!
Happy Fourth and all that jazz!
